KADWILL INKS NEW DEAL

Nazeing Common star Andrew Kadwill has committed his long term future to the club by penning a two year contract extension.

Kadwill, nicknamed (amongst other things) ‘The Machine’ for his impressive chocolate consumption abilities, joined the club in 2002 and has gone on to make over 800 runs and taken more than 100 wickets.

Speaking on Sky Sports News this morning he stated; “It’s nice to finally get this new deal thrashed out. My agent has been locked in talks with the Chairman for several minutes and Im delighted we have come to an agreement that suits both parties. I feel I can now focus on the cricket again and continue to help Nazeing reach new heights”.

Chairman Peter Barker was unavailable for comment, but social secretary Kevin Murphy described the news as ‘Marrrrrrvellous’.

The 22 year old has been in excellent form indoors, notching 50 runs in 3 innings so far as Nazeing B continue an impressive league campaign.

They surged to a third consecutive victory last evening with a fine team performance against Full Tossers.

Kadwill himself notched 25, whilst 55 from Mike Plume added to a fine all round team effort as a 50 run win was secured.

The A-Team have endured a troublesome campaign, but picked up victory by 1 run over Myddleton House last evening, with excellent work from Veteran Ron Morley and Ed Taylor seeing them home.

And a reminder to all that winter nets (or pre-season training if you want to make us sound professional) continues on Monday evenings at 7.00pm at the new HECC Sport Centre in High Wych. Contact any of the usual suspects for more information.

Norfolk N Chance

It seems that those Norfolk folks have fond memories of old Nazeing tours and have commemorated this with the opening of the ‘Legends Bar’ in Great Yarmouth, a tip of the cap to Nazeing superstar Pete Danes.

NAZEING COMMON DOG NIGHT II : RETURN OF THE RABBIT

A reminder that the 25th Sept sees us return to Harlow dogs, for what Rob Mackie has now coined ‘Nazeing Common Dog Night II: Return Of The Rabbit’

Those words alone see Pete Barker sitting at his desk loosening his shoulders for a bowl, however once again its about raising funds for the club and having fun, so please show your support once more. Darren Dack is the man for more details.

Reese confirmed to NazeingCricket.org afterwards that its not a choice he would make again.

Sad news this week, as attendance at the V festival prevented Michael Blair from tucking into to Helga’s freshly made Dorrington’s Donuts.

Aidan Crowley : An Apology

We at NazeingCricket.org accept that we are not perfect, and that's mistakes are made.

These mistakes are never intended to offend, nor harm the reputation of any of the featured players.

As such, we offer our sincerest apologies to Aidan Crowley for tallying his sixes league score up as 6, instead of 8.  We fully accept that Aidan is a bit hitter of the highest magnitude and hold our hands up to the error. It wont happen again.

Legendary Decision Making

A warm welcome back to umpiring for the legend Peter Danes.

Famous for calling it straight down the middle, Danes pushed aside emotional and personal feelings on Sunday to raise the finger when Veteran Ron Morley was struck infront, and entered a display competent enough for his skipper to let him continue umpiring.

‘He was excellent’ remarked Peter Barker.

End Of Season Presentation: 80s Night

Remember Saturday is the end of season party, and its an 80’s fancy dress night. Anybody not dressing in some 80’s gear is very very dull indeed and will definitely not be winning any awards…it's the reason engraving is done after the evening !

Johnners20 ?

There were concerns over 1500 run bandit hero Colonel Johnson on Sunday evening as he was spotted in the club bar drinking J20.

A source close to Johnson suggested this to be his first non alcoholic post match drink since his debut in 1963.

Danes Reigns On Awards Night

The clubs annual presentation evening took place on Saturday, with the great efforts of the legendary Peter Danes taking centre stage.

An emotional Danes collected clubman of the year and gave a moving speech before spending the rest of the evening singing along to music and dancing with Helga!

Danesy, we salute you.

Paul Johnson, Aidan Crowley, Ross Edwards, Tom Burns, Jack Finch, Paul Quinn, Tom Finch, Jamie Stevens and Josh Stevens were amongst the evenings other big winners.  Presentation photos will be uploaded here as soon as the memory stick with pics arrives !

We’ll Meet Again…

The season came to a close this weekend, with just enough time for Kevin Murphy to show perhaps he should head to Hoddesdon instead, whilst Peter Barker continued his season long average protection plan and Andy Bevan cracks 96*

Sixsational Finish

An exciting conclusion to the sixes league this weekend, with Peter Barker notching 6 of them on the final day to overtake Todd Sturdy, who had prematurely been awarded the trophy on Saturday evening.

Barker is seen here proudly receiving his tropyhy from a very gutted Todd Sturdy.

Malibu & Choke…

Whilst some handled their presentation night alcohol pretty well…some didn't…well, one didn't.

Sarah ‘Ive never been sick through alcohol’ Waters was indeed sick several times, and her attempts to recover on Sunday afternoon were unfortunately timed at exactly the moment that Kevin Murphy was knocking his bat in. And that the grand prix was on the TV. And at the point where Dovey was banging the bin lid.

Just unfortunate really!

Get Shirty

With the tradition of receiving a t shirt for giving Veteran Ron Morley out LBW continuing, two of this years deserving recipients sported theirs with pride this weekend.

Aki Achillea, Peter Danes and Paul Elby were the lucky men this year, who will get the honour in 2010 ?

Not A Problem…

The Veteran didn't seem too fussed however as he danced the night away on Saturday, necking Pride and Pernod and dancing with a host of lucky female fans.

The 80s party night proved a huge success with most opting for Jamie Wills’ Diego Maradona outfit as the top effort of the night!
