Barker 6-35 on Sunday Waters On The Mend Nazeing and Essex star Sarah Waters is recovering after contracting a nasty case of cankles at the weekend. Having had a good week, taking 3-5 for Essex against Surrey and scoring 52 for Nazeing at Audley End, the 18 year old was bitten by what has since been identified as a Token Eating Gnat, and though playing through Saturday’s game was admitted to hospital in the evening. Thankfully she recovered sufficiently to watch Pete Barker’s brilliant 6-35 on Sunday, and is on her way to a full recovery. Sarah's Injury

The event was a huge success and attended by a large number of spin hopeful youngsters, with the assembled crowd especially thrilled by the bonus ‘Reverse Sweeping’ Lecture given by Quinn afterwards.

Bunny Survives After Barker No Show With Peter Barker away on Stag Night duty for the great ‘COME ON IAN’ Hanmore, the rabbit that made its way onto the outfield on Saturday thankfully left safely and without ‘Bowled Barker’ next to his name ! This particular bunny walked back with stumps intact Johnners20 ? There were concerns over 1500 run bandit hero Colonel Johnson on Sunday evening as he was spotted in the club bar drinking J20.
A source close to Johnson suggested this to be his first non alcoholic post match drink since his debut in 1963.

Danes Reigns On Awards Night The clubs annual presentation evening took place on Saturday, with the great efforts of the legendary Peter Danes taking centre stage. An emotional Danes collected clubman of the year and gave a moving speech before spending the rest of the evening singing along to music and dancing with Helga! Danesy, we salute you. Paul Johnson, Aidan Crowley, Ross Edwards, Tom Burns, Jack Finch, Paul Quinn, Tom Finch, Jamie Stevens and Josh Stevens were amongst the evenings other big winners. Presentation photos will be uploaded here as soon as the memory stick with pics arrives ! Danes Collects His Award We’ll Meet Again… The season came to a close this weekend, with just enough time for Kevin Murphy to show perhaps he should head to Hoddesdon instead, whilst Peter Barker continued his season long average protection plan and Andy Bevan cracks 96* Read the final weekends reports:

The re-presentation! Malibu & Choke… Whilst some handled their presentation night alcohol pretty well…some didn't…well, one didn't. Sarah ‘Ive never been sick through alcohol’ Waters was indeed sick several times, and her attempts to recover on Sunday afternoon were unfortunately timed at exactly the moment that Kevin Murphy was knocking his bat in. And that the grand prix was on the TV. And at the point where Dovey was banging the bin lid.

With the tradition of receiving a t shirt for giving Veteran Ron Morley out LBW continuing, two of this years deserving recipients sported theirs with pride this weekend.
Aki Achillea, Peter Danes and Paul Elby were the lucky men this year, who will get the honour in 2010 ?
Aki Achillea proudly models his shirt Not A Problem… The Veteran didn't seem too fussed however as he danced the night away on Saturday, necking Pride and Pernod and dancing with a host of lucky female fans.
The 80s party night proved a huge success with most opting for Jamie Wills’ Diego Maradona outfit as the top effort of the night!
