CONGRATS BJORNY

Despite being ridiculously bitter at recent English success in absolutely everything, Lewis Hamilton's biggest fan - our Kiwi all round star Bjorn Cunningham - has gone and got himself married.

Bjorn took off his hideous West Brom shirt for a few hours to tie the knot in Ireland recently.

Many congrats to Bjorn and Katarzyna from all at NCCC.

 ACHILLEA BEGINS COMMUNITY SERVICE

After a string of speeding offences last season, Nazeing WAG Anne Achillea has begun her community service by spending several hours planting trees at a local school.

The 33 year old wife of popular batsman Aki Achillea was all smiles for the hoard of waiting photographers at Nazeing Primary School, with the kids treated to a real thrill when husband Aki stopped to sign autographs and pose for photos with starstruck children at the school earlier this week.

A spokeswoman for the school noted "She doesn't know much about trees...but it was a real treat for the kids to meet one of their hero's when Aki arrived. They were too excited to get anymore work done for the rest of the day!".

  BARKER CONFIRMS ASIA TALKS

Nazeing chairman Pete Barker has today confirmed that the club are holding preliminary talks about hosting a HECL match in the Far East this summer.

He refused to go into specifics, comment only that; “We are in early discussions with a number of clubs about making this a possibility.  Some of the sides in HECL Division 4 have a reasonable fan base in that part of the world, and to take cricket to them would potentially be a fine idea for both Nazeing Common and the HECL. Expanding our horizons could create new streams of revenue and enable us to continue refurbishment work at the club and meet Kevin Murphy’s wage demands at the same time”.

STURDY TUNING UP FOR NEW SEASON

Mark Sturdy is once again leading the way for NCCC troops, with the stylish first team skipper reportedly already into a strict training routine ahead of the new season.

He has been seen by numerous sources jogging around the streets of Hertfordshire with his Ipod on, with one disappointed young Nazeing fan claiming; “I asked for his autograph but he just ran past ignoring me shouting about a town…something to do with malice?  I didn’t understand”.

McDonnell was struck on the shin whilst in the field, and despite cushioning the ball nicely with his shin bone, suffered some nasty cuts and bruising. “It wasn't fun” confirmed McDonnell; “It had been a bit of a bad day as Id strained an eyelash in the warm up, which was going to effect my batting anyway, but this just compounded things”.
